Louisiana Childbirth Collective
A Louisiana non-profit serving birthing families. The Louisiana Childbirth Collective is an organization comprised of doulas, midwives, childbirth educators, breastfeeding counselors and other birth professionals who support families and each other, promote labor support by educating families and the birth community about the role of the doula, provide ongoing education for labor support personnel, and help families locate childbirth resources in Louisiana. With active groups in the Baton Rouge and New Orleans areas, the Louisiana Childbirth Collective serves birthing families throughout our state.

Mellow Mommy and Me
Infant massage routine that incorporates yoga, strength training exercises and relaxation. Proven to improve baby's bonding as well as stimulates gastrointestinal functions, circulation, and respiratory functions.

La Leche League
La Leche League is an international, nonprofit, nonsectarian organization dedicated to providing education, information, support, and encouragement to women who want to breastfeed. All breastfeeding mothers and pregnant women interested in breastfeeding are welcome to come to our meetings or call our Leaders for breastfeeding help. We also provide health care professionals with continuing education opportunities and access to the latest research on lactation management.

Mom's Breastaurant
Making outdoor events more breastfeeding friendly and family friendly, Mom's Breastaurant offers event-goers a nursing room and a diaper changing station at no charge.

Cappa
CAPPA is a non-profit international organization that was founded in 1998 to offer the highest level of professional membership and training to childbirth educators, lactation educators, labor doulas, antepartum doulas and postpartum doulas. CAPPA offers the highest level of evidence based training available. The organization consists of a leadership board, regional representatives, trainers, mentors, advisors and its membership. CAPPA is the most comprehensive pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum organization available...caring for women before, during, and after birth through education and support.

Dona
With more than 5,500 birth and postpartum doula members and growing, we are the largest doula association in the world. We support doulas by providing quality training and meaningful certification. We serve mothers and families by providing access to information and research about doulas, childbirth and the postpartum experience. DONA International certification sets the bar for doula education and professional development. It indicates to families that a doula has achieved a high level of training and professionalism.

Operations Special Delivery
Operation Special Delivery (OSD), provides trained volunteer doulas for pregnant women whose husbands or partners have been severely injured or who have lost their lives due to the current war on terror, or who will be deployed at the time that they are due to give birth.

International Childbirth Education Association
Certification by the International Childbirth Education Association (ICEA) indicates that the person certified by ICEA has completed a rigorous set of requirements including face-to-face classroom instruction, observing several labors and births, successful completion of evaluated teaching, and successful testing of knowledge and competency in a closed multi-text, timed and supervised examination. ICEA certification does not indicate that the person certified is employed by ICEA and ICEA does not monitor nor is it responsible for the content of any classes, seminars or other presentations led or conducted by such persons or services provided by them. Rather, ICEA expects its certified members to honor ICEA philosophy and training and invites consumers to notify us if they feel a certified member has not upheld their responsibilities.

Lamaze International
Lamaze education promotes, supports and protects every woman’s right to give birth, confident in her own ability, free to find comfort in a wide variety of ways, and supported by her family and all members of the health care team.

Bayou Shimmy
There's a great deal of joy to be found in this particular dance, but it's also a perfect chance for release of daily tensions as well as a great medium to get to know yourself better. Overall, it's low-stress on your body. As with most things, it's important to remember that you can only base your progress on where you were yesterday. Belly Dancing is a wonderful exercise for pregnant woman. Not only is it very low-impact, it help to get the baby to move down into the pelvis and helps keep your pelvis bones loose making an easier entrance for baby.
